Description: Son of Emile Auguste Ouchard, Bernard Ouchard began crafting bows at the young age of 13. He moved to Paris with his father in 1941 where he incorporated the Hill-style underside into his making. After serving his country in WWII, Bernard joined the Vidoudez firm in Geneva, Switzerland, on the recommendation of Lapierre. In 1971, he left the firm and became a professor of bow making at the Ecole de lutherie in Mirecourt.
This particular bow is in very good condition. The octagonal stick branded VIDOUDEZ GENEVE is made of medium red-brown pernambuco and is 72.6 cm long. The frog is ebony with silver mountings and inlaid parisian eyes. The button is ebony with a full silver cap. Weight: 60.4 grams. Certified by Isaac Salchow.
