Description: George Wulme Hudson was born in in 1882 and became one of England’s most versatile and talented makers. Though his violin making career began late, Hudson became a quite prolific maker and produced over 800 instruments in his time. Hudson became known as one of the world’s finest copyists of the great Italian makers, Stradivari, Bergonzi, and Guarneri. This particular violin is copy of a 1750 Janurarius Gagliano and is in good condition at this time. There are a few well done repairs on the top which are noted in the photograph. A very powerful and rich tone produced from this violin. Back length: 35.7 cm.
