Description: Maurice Bourguignon was born in 1885 in the city of Mattaincourt, France. He apprenticed under Thibouville in 1898. After completing his apprenticeship, he moved to Paris and then later to Brussels to study under Georges Mougenot. Maurice eventually acquired Mougenot’s business in 1910 and continued to craft fine violins. Maurice was awarded several medals and diplomas at various exhibitions throughout his lifetime.
This particular violin produces a projecting tone with excellent clarity in the upper registers. Back Length: 35.9 cm.
