Maker: Lorenzo Ventapane
Description:Lorenzo Ventapane (1780 – 1843). One of the most important makers of the Neapolitan tradition, Lorenzo Ventapane probably studied with one of the members of the illustrious Gagliano family, perhaps Giovanni or his son Nicolò II. The Gagliano influence on Ventapane's instruments is strong and is evident in their construction, varnish, and sound quality.
This violin is a beautiful example of Ventapane’s work. Broad-grain top with a gorgeous one-piece back. A petite build but no diminishing of sound. A very comfortable violin to play. The sound is rich and complex with a good projecting quality. Back Length: 35.0 cm.
