The Maker
Abe Liebhaber is an American bowmaker based in San Diego, where he founded his workshop in 2013. He began making bows in 2011 at the University of New Hampshire’s bowmaking program under Lynn Hannings and continued his training with makers including George Rubino. A member of the Violin Society of America, he regularly participates in the Oberlin Bowmaking Workshop. In addition to his work as a maker and restorer, Liebhaber is an active professional cellist, performing with ensembles such as Arizona Opera.
