Description: Son of a wigmaker, Dominique Peccatte was born in Mirecourt, France, in 1810. He moved to Paris in 1826 to join the Vuillaume shop, where he studied under Jean Marie Persoit. After 10 years at the Vuillaume shop, Dominique began working for François Lupot, whose workshop he took over after Lupot’s death in 1838. Dominique moved back to Mirecourt in 1847 and he began slowing down his bowmaking until his death in 1874.
