He began his training when he was only 13 with his father in the Cuniot-Hury workshop. In 1940 he moved to Paris, where he set up his own workshop. During the Nazi occupation of France , he managed to win the “Grand Prix” in 1942 at the Exposition des Artisans de Paris (Exhibition of the Craftsmen of Paris). Throughout his prolific career, he travelled the world mastering new techniques and added the most innovative bow addition, the Hill style underslide stamp. This particular bow was crafted in Paris, France in 1945 just three years after he won the “Grand Prix” for a similar bow. The bow is in excellent condition, silver and ebony mounted, octagonal stick with a silver button. The bow is very strong yet light, and was designed for the greatest soloists and performers.
