The matching ribs and scroll complement the two-piece spruce top, which displays narrow, even grain. A golden-yellow varnish with tasteful shading and a pale-golden ground enhances its elegant appearance. Tonally, the instrument is clear and resonant, offering a radiant top and responsive playability across all registers. The interior label reads: “Helmuth Ellersieck Los Angeles Faciebat Anno 1939, #737.” The violin is in excellent condition.
