The Viola Bow
A fine viola bow by Paul Martin Siefried, made in Port Townsend around 2000. At 71.2 grams, the bow feels exceptionally stable and secure in the hand while remaining responsive and easy to control. It draws a rich, full tone with excellent clarity and balance.
The round stick is fashioned from choice pernambuco and fitted with an ebony and faux ivory tip plate. The ebony frog is mounted in sterling silver with large pearl eyes. An ebony adjuster has two silver rings and a pearl end dot. A thin silver wrap and goat leather thumb grip complete the bow. The bow is in mint condition.
