Cellist Michelle Beauchesne has been passionately playing her cello since the age of seven, winning multiple competitions at an early age. At seventeen she received a full scholarship at the St. Louis Conservatory studying with John Sant’ Ambrogio and Leslie Parnas, later continuing at New England Conservatory and HARID with David Wells and Johanne Perron. Michelle has worked with Leonard Bernstein, Yo-Yo Ma and Isaac Stern at the Tanglewood Festival, and studied abroad at the American Conservatory in Fontainebleau, France with Jean-Marie Gammard of the Paris Conservatory. She has performed throughout the United States with the Florida Philharmonic, Palm Beach Opera Company, Berkeley Symphony, and served as principal cellist on the American Tour with the Bolshoi Ballet. Recording and touring brought her alongside artists such as Placido Domingo, Andrea Bocelli, Natalie Cole, John Cage, and Grammy Award winning group MANA, with whom she made her MTV Unplugged debut. Michelle recently completed her first solo album, titled Solo — pure unaccompanied cello, speaking to her vast life experience as a musician.
